Yoruba Baptist Hymns

A letter to our hymnbook community

FROM THE DEVELOPER & MAINTAINER · 3 NOVEMBER 2026

Dear friends,

Since I began developing Yoruba Baptist Hymns in 2020, I have wanted to preserve these songs and make them easy to access wherever you worship.

These hymns have passed through generations. They accompany church services, family devotions, and deeply personal moments. That is why I have always been reluctant to introduce Google ads.

On Saturday night, 31 October, I tried them for the first time. By Tuesday morning, 3 November, I had taken them down. They were distracting and took away from the experience I wanted you to have. I’m sorry, and I have no plans to bring them back.

Maintaining this platform comes with ongoing hosting, development, and maintenance costs. Around 1,200 people use it daily, rising to about 5,000 or more on Sundays. It is a privilege to serve this community, but sustaining the platform takes resources.

Time away from work this year, along with the help of AI tools, has allowed me to introduce many improvements. If those changes have made the hymnbook more useful to you, please consider supporting the work:

  • Make a donation to help cover its running costs.
  • Become a sponsor through our carefully selected sponsorship placements.
  • Work with me on a website, design, SEO, or growth project—or refer someone who needs these services.

Giving is entirely optional. You are welcome here whether or not you can contribute.

Thank you for singing, sharing, and helping preserve these hymns for the next generation.

With gratitude,
Ademola Alabi
