A few useful answers

A little help, when you need it.

Does adding the icon download every hymn?

No. The icon makes the hymnbook easy to open. You still need to tap Offline on each hymn while connected and wait for the saved confirmation.

Why do I need an account?

Offline hymn downloads are free for registered readers. Sign in while online to set up this device. After setup, downloaded hymns can be read without contacting the website each time you open them offline.

What works without internet?

You can find and read hymns downloaded on this device, change the text size, font and reading colour, and read this guide. Downloading new hymns, checking for corrections, account changes, comments and payments need a connection.

Why is my offline hymnbook empty?

Check you are using the same phone, browser or home-screen icon where you saved your hymns. Sign in online, open a hymn and tap Offline. Wait for the confirmation. Private browsing, cleared website data or your device freeing storage may remove downloads.

Will the downloads follow me to another phone?

Downloads stay on the device and browser where you saved them. Sign in on your other phone and download the hymns there too. Your account favourites and your device downloads are separate.

How do I update or remove a saved hymn?

When connected, open your offline hymnbook and choose “Check for updates”. Use “Remove download” beneath a hymn to remove its device copy. This does not remove an account favourite.

What happens to offline usage information?

The hymnbook stores simple usage counts on this device, such as downloads, hymn opens and steps viewed in this guide. Device categories and the guide tab selected help us understand which instructions are useful. Raw browser identifiers are not stored. When it reconnects while you are signed in to the same account, it sends those events to help us measure offline use. It does not send passwords, highlighted words or device location. Events older than 90 days are discarded on the next use. Server records are scheduled for deletion after 90 days; unsent events are limited to 5,000 on this browser. Counts can be incomplete if data is cleared or a device does not reconnect.

Can I still read these instructions offline?

Yes. The offline hymnbook includes this guide under “How to use offline hymns”. Open the updated hymnbook online once to prepare it before disconnecting.
